It was a day 60 years in the making. The Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame was finally able to open the doors to a museum that now houses the biggest names and the best memorabilia and moments in the pelican state's history. And what better way to usher in the new facility than with a heavyweight class of 2013 inductees.
Saturday night, the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame added 9 new members to it's ranks. From LSU star athletes to a professional tennis player to a Bossier City horse jockey, this class certainly has a little bit for every sports fan. The headliner of the class of 2013 is a big one, literally, NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal, who didn't really get to know the state until he played at LSU. But no matter what the background for each inductee is, one thing rang true, it was a proud night celebrating the best of the best in Louisiana sports.
