In the spirit of Wimbledon, summer tennis is heating up for local kids. Over the past 5 years, the USTA has changed the way they teach tennis to those kids 10 and under, with modified equipment like smaller court sizes, shorter and lighter racquets, and slower balls to help kids to better understand the fundamentals. Before tennis wasn't brought to the masses, but with the help of this program as well as new middle school teams, the sport is growing. But Verzaal says you can play tennis just about anywhere from your driveway to any local tennis club. Equipment is sold in many stores across the Ark-La-Tex.
