It's been an unforgettable week here in Louisiana, ushering in the new Sports Hall of Fame museum. Saturday night, a heavyweight class of inductees entered the hall. And the northwest corner of the state was not left out.
Grambling basketball legend James Jones, Tiger fans may know him as Jimmy, was finally recognized for his achievements. Jones grew up in Tallulah and didn't travel far from home to play for the G-men, where he was the star of three straight Southwestern Athletic Conference championship teams.
Jones went on to become one of the best ABA basketball players ever, and when he got the call this summer that he would be in this year's inductee class, he had one thing to say.
Jones played under legendary coach Fred Hobdy, who is also a member of the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame.
