Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Deputies have arrested  four Lafayette men on drug charges according to Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Victor Jones Jr.

On Sunday morning at approximately 10:10am, Sheriff's deputies were conducting patrols of camp grounds in the Kisatchie National Forest, when they learned that a group of men at the Kisatchie Bayou camp grounds had been disturbing campers during the night, acting suspiciously and disorderly.

Deputies interviewed the suspected men, and while talking to them, smelled a strong marijuana smoke odor.

Deputies also saw items in plain view commonly used in illegal narcotics usage.

Deputies say when they informed the individuals about the paraphernalia in plain view, asking if they had any illegal narcotics, they began to show the deputies where illegal narcotics were concealed.

Deputies seized several bags of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Deputies issued summons to 18 year-old William Caleb Vanzant, 23 year-old Eric Dale Royal, 22 year-old Ian Paul Darby and 24 year-old Adam Ross Cameron all of Lafayette, Louisiana.

All four men are charged with Possession of CDS Schedule I Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Sheriff Jones stated the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Office and US Forest Service have partnered over the summer months to conduct aggressive patrols of camp grounds in the Kisatchie National Forest to ensure the public's safety, and allow families to have a safe and fun event while visiting the  National Forest.  "Deputies will be aggressively looking for drug violators, and illegal alcohol consumption that disturbs the quality of life for visitors".
