Cowboys' Romo says he's ready for training camp

Posted: Updated:
DALLAS, Tx. -

Expectations at Cowboys camp are high, as always, but especially after quarterback Tony Romo lined his pockets a little more with a nice contract extension.  Owner Jerry Jones is betting on Romo to take the Cowboys to their first Super Bowl win since 1996.

The success of the Blue Stars is now on Romo's back, literally.  With their starter coming off surgery to remove a cyst from his back, Romo didn't throw during OTA's or mini camp, but will hopefully be set to go for training camp in just a couple of weeks.

He'll be getting firing orders from a different coach this season after offensive coordinator Bill Callahan took over play-calling duties, but Romo isn't phased. Cowboys report to training camp in just 2 weeks.
