Upcoming bridge inspections, lane closures

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has issued lane closures because of routine bridge inspections.

On Wednesday, July 10, the LA 511 (Jimmie Davis) bridge over the Red River in Bossier City will be restricted to one lane of traffic for one day between the hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The closure is for a routine bridge inspection. The closure will allow vehicles 10 feet wide or smaller to pass through the bridge inspection zone. Larger vehicles will need to detour using US 71 north to LA 3032 west to LA 1 south. 

On Thursday, July 11, the LA 3036 (North Common Street) south bound bridge over Cross Bayou in Shreveport will be restricted to one lane traffic between the hours of 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. This closure is also for a routine bridge inspection. Vehicles over 10 feet wide will need to detour using US 71 (Market Street) south to LA 173 (Caddo Street) north to LA 3036 (North Common Street). 

On Monday, July 15, the LA 538 bridge over Twelve Mile Bayou in Caddo Parish will be restricted to one lane between the hours of 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The closure will allow vehicles 16 feet wide or smaller to pass through the bridge inspection zone. Larger vehicles must detour using LA 3049 to US 71 north to LA 538.

On Tuesday, July 16, the west bound lane of traffic on the US 80 bridge over the Red River from Bossier City into Shreveport will be restricted to one lane for one day between the hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Vehicles over 10 feet wide will need to detour using LA 1 to LA 3032 or LA 3 to US 71 to LA 3032.

On Wednesday, July 17, the LA 2 bridge over the Red River in Bossier Parish will be restricted to one lane for one day between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. for a routine inspection. Vehicles over 10 feet wide will need to detour using US 71 to I-220 east to LA 3.
