Stuff the Bus works to help kids during back-to-school

Posted: Updated:
SHREVEPORT, La. -

Summer vacation is coming to a close for area kids, which means it's time to get ready for back-to-school.

The Stuff the Bus campaign rolls into another week at KTBS, and it's not too late to donate any school supplies.

Today, the folks at Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Funeral Homes decided to help us out.

Their donation will help to ensure that every student in the Ark-La-Tex has the needed school supplies to start the year off right.

"What better way to help the children in our community than giving them new school supplies as they start the school year? Ready to learn, and apply that knowledge to whatever their future brings to them. It's our pleasure to always partner with Channel 3 in this endeavor," says Margaret Shehee, with Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Funeral Homes.

Donations of supplies can be dropped off at the KTBS 3 lobby, located at 312 E. Kings Hwy., Shreveport.

For all the tens of billions of dollars that the nation has spent on screening passengers and their bags, few airports made a comparable investment to secure the airplanes themselves.
The head of Maui's main airport says a 15-year-old stowaway aboard a flight from San Jose had no clue he was in Maui after jumping from a jetliner's wheel well to the tarmac.
