Texas A&M preparing for 2nd season in the SEC

Posted: Updated:
Hoover, AL -

The Sophomore slump: that's something Texas A&M and their starting quarterback Johnny Manziel are hoping to avoid.  Last year when the Aggies entered the SEC, the league wasn't really sure how they'd respond to a tougher conference, especially with LSU and Alabama in their western division.

But A&M impressed behind Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Football and the SEC media days preseason rankings reflected their success, voting the Aggies to finish 2nd in the west behind Bama.  Second year head coach Kevin Sumlin called last season a whirlwind but now it's time to focus on 2013.   The Aggies begin the season in the comforts of Kyle Field against Rice on August 31st.
