Senior PBA Tour lands in Shreveport this weekend

Posted: Updated:
SHREVEPORT, La -

The Senior Pro Bowlers tour is in Shreveport this weekend and whether bowling fans want a flashback to the old Wide World of Sports days, or just want to see some good bowling, it's here Saturday and Sunday.

Several former champions are in the field including PBA Hall of Famer Mark Williams, former U.S. Open Champion Robert Lawrence and 2010 Senior Master champ Rich Ninier.  The competition will conclude on Sunday when the winner will get 2,000 dollars.  Sponsored by the Horseshoe Casino, admission is free as this is the first time pro bowling has come to the state of Louisiana in many years.

Tournament Director Pete McCordic is not playing this weekend, but he used to.  Back in the day, he was the first player to bowl a perfect game on TV, and won a 100,000 dollar bonus for doing so.
