Arkansas' strength lies in its defensive line this season

Posted: Updated:
Hoover, AL -

A team that didn't get to go bowling this past season were the Arkansas Razorbacks.  The Hogs had a bumpy offseason, to say the least, and it reflected, especially on the defensive side of the ball.  The Razorbacks were 2-6 in the SEC and ranked 12th in the conference in total defense.

The future may look bright with the hiring of their defensive minded new head coach Bret Bielema, who told us at SEC Media Days that this is one of the most talented defensive lines he's ever coached.    Arkansas returns key pieces to the D-line, including starting ends Chris Smith and Trey Flowers, but there's a lot more talent in between as well.  Smith added that they're focusing on being strong up front to stop the run, which of course is a mainstay in the SEC.
