LSU's Mingo signs 4 year deal with Browns

Posted: Updated:
Cleveland, OH -

In the largest LSU NFL draft class in history, the top Tiger pick Barkevious Mingo officially signed Sunday with the team that chose him 6th overall.  The Cleveland Browns and Mingo agreed to a 4 year contract, reportedly worth a little more than $16 million, with an option for a 5th season with the club.

The former Tiger now joins his class of rookies and only missed one day of on-field practice.  Mingo received slightly more than last year's number 6 pick, his former teammate Morris Claiborne.  The Shreveport native agreed to a fully guaranteed 4 year contract worth a total of $16.26 million with a $10.3 million signing bonus.

There was plenty of talk concerning the youth on LSU's roster coming into the season. While they did grab a win in week one against Wisconsin, Saturday night's matchup was just proof that the Tigers are a work in progress
