NATCHITOCHES PARISH, La. -

Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Detectives along with the assistance of the Winn Parish Sheriff's Office have arrested a Winn Parish teenager in connection with a couple of camp house burglaries in north Natchitoches Parish according to Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Victor Jones Jr.

On March 27th, 2013, NPSO Deputies responded to two camp burglaries reported in the 500 block of Carroll Camp Road, Saline, La., near Black Lake.

During the investigation, deputies learned that the assailant had forced his way into the camp houses by kicking in the front door and breaking a side window.

Items that were stolen during the burglaries were: A 50 caliber muzzle-loader rifle, Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun, Minn Kota outboard trolling motor, Daisy BB gun and a .410 shotgun.

Chief of Investigations Greg Dunn, said that while Winn Parish Sheriff's Deputies were investigating a rash of burglaries in Winn Parish, they discovered some of the items taken in the Natchitoches Parish burglaries.

Most of the stolen items have been recovered except the BB gun.

NPSO Detectives interviewed three suspects in the cases, and were able to obtain sufficient probable cause to secure arrest warrants through the Tenth Judicial District Court.

As a result of the investigation, detectives arrested 17 year-old Jeremy Coltyn Babers of Winnfield, La. Babers was booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center on July 18th. He is charged with 2-counts of Simple Burglary, and 2-counts of Simple Criminal Damage to Property. Babers' bond is set at $13,000.

We've been told by many veterans that they receive quality care at the V.A. hospital in Shreveport. But for some getting an appointment to see their caregivers is the challenge. We’ve uncovered concerns, however, over how their numbers look so good - while patients are still waiting to be seen.“Certainly from my viewpoint here, as a veteran, as a physician, the c...

Ever since allegations that veterans died waiting for care came out of phoenix, we've all been asking, why, and how could an organization aimed at helping our servicemen and women foster an atmosphere where this has gone on for so long?
