Loux candle light vigil shines light on bullying

Posted: Updated:

The family of bulling victim Katlin Loux held a vigil for their daughter tonight at the Arthur Teague Parkway boat launch in Bossier City. Friday marked two months since Loux passed away. The candlelight vigil was held at sunset. The family urged those who attend to bring their own, unique candles as away to show their differences. Loux's mother hopes the vigil shines light on the bulling issue, teaches people to be there for those who are bullied or lonely and to make sure cries for help don't go ignored.

"A lot of the problems Katlin was having during her bulling issue is that she was different," Evelyn said. "My thought process in this was that, if everybody brought a candle then all the candles would be different. It will show the differences in people. Their differences in likes and interests...."

Loux was just 17 when she passed away. She had also recently graduated from Parkway High School.
