WEBSTER PARISH, La. -
All six of the Explo Systems, Inc. employees plead guilty to all of the felony charges they were indicted on after the investigation into the explosion at Camp Minden last fall.

Explo co-owners David Fincher and David Smith, vice president of production and operations William Wright, quality safety manager Michael Kile, inventory control manager Lionel Koons and Todd Dietrich, plant engineer, were all in court Monday morning with their attorneys.

The men are charged with unlawful storage of explosives, reckless storage of explosives, failure to obtain magazine license, failure to properly mark explosive material, and failure to keep accurate inventory of the 10 million pounds of M-6 propellant found outside the company office.

After the arraignment was over, Kile's attorney explained why all six men plead not guilty.

"Well, that's pretty routine in a criminal case," said attorney Stephen Glassell. "First time in the court room you're going to plead not guilty. We're in the process of receiving the discovery which are the police reports and other reports. I think that will be on going for a while."

Although he was not in courtroom for the men's arraignments, Webster Parish District Attorney Schuyler Marvin did make a comment afterwards.

The explosive laws in Louisiana have never been used in a criminal matter until now. This will be the first time," said Marvin. "Fortunately, they're clear. They're real simple. They're not like the obscenity laws and real complicated. But, if you handle explosives in a negligent manner, don't keep records, things like that, it's a violation of the law and that's what we have here."

The next court appearance for the six defendants is a status conference set for Sept 30, the trial is scheduled to begin Nov 4.
