18-year-old booked for tattooing 13-year-old girl

GRETNA, La. -

An 18-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly tattooing a 13-year-old Gretna girl.

The Times-Picayune reports Joseph Baudoin, also of Gretna, was arrested Tuesday on charges in a state statute that bars the tattooing or body piercing of anyone younger than 18.

The girl's mother contacted Gretna police Monday after she discovered a tattooed star on her daughter's hip. The girl told the responding officer that she got the tattoo three weeks earlier and that Baudoin was the tattoo artist.

According to an arrest report, the officer questioned Baudoin, who admitted that he gave the girl the tattoo.

Baudoin was booked at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center. He was released later Tuesday on a $1,000 bond.

It was not immediately known whether Baudoin has an attorney.
