BOSSIER CITY, La -

An Arklatex child is safe after he was found wandering around Wednesday night.

Bossier City Police tell KTBS 3 News that a three-year-old boy was found in the 1300 block of Barks dale just after 11:30 p.m at a store.

Officials say officers attempted to gain information from child, but the child was unable to provide any information.

The young boy appeared to be in good health and was taken to Bossier Police Department.

Police were unable to locate the parents once the child was found and there were no reports of a missing child.

 Authorities contacted Child Protective Services.

Around 1:30a.m. Thursday, officers made contact with the father Jeremy Hutchison, when he came arrived at the store looking for the child.

Investigators later discovered that Hutchison was at his home in the 1200 block of Delhi (a block away) when he fell asleep and the boy subsequently wandered off.

Hutchison was arrested and booked on a charge of child desertion.
