After Further Review: Saints can overcome Morgan injury

New Orleans, La. - His season-ending meniscus/ACL injury is a tough break, but the Saints will overcome the loss of Joe Morgan.

Morgan was having a good camp and was even listed as a first-teamer on the team's unofficial depth chart with Marques Colston out. But there wasn't a huge gap between him and rookie Kenny Stills -- the player that mostly resembles his skill set -- or Andy Tanner, Nick Toon, Courtney Roby or even Steve Breaston. Morgan may be the fastest, but Stills also has great downfield speed and may even be a better route runner than Morgan. The other receivers bring different attributes to the table.

Coach Payton and his offensive staff are masters at identifying the players they have, finding their strength and marrying that within a game plan so that player can flourish on the field.

Also, in this offense this receiver doesn't have to catch a lot of passes. So they're not counting on a guy to catch 80 balls, more like 30-35.

So while Morgan's injury does hurt, I don't expect the Saints offense to miss a beat.

No. 18 Ole Miss pulls away from Boise State 35-13

Bo Wallace threw four touchdowns passes in a sloppy season opener, and No. 18 Mississippi pulled away in the fourth quarter to beat Boise State 35-13 on Thursday night.
For much of the night, it was tough to watch. Mississippi hardly looked like the 18th-ranked team in the country. Boise State in no way resembled the program that used to beat the big boys with such regularity.

Kenny Hill looked more than ready to replace Johnny Manziel on the field. He is still getting used to the attention that goes along with the job.
