As soon as the Saints wrapped up their final practice before Friday night's pre-season showdown with Kansas City Chiefs, the Black and Gold's veterans decided to welcome the rookies to the NFL.

Will Smith, Roman Harper, Akiem Hicks and Malcolm Jenkins got down to the business of taping rookies Kenny Vaccaro and Rod Sweeting to the indoor practice facility's goal post within moments of the conclusion of Thursday's practice. The Saints tweeted out the photographic evidence.

The rookies better clean off the tape marks and dry off their Gatorade-soaked heads. Sean Payton says the Saints first-teamers will play about one quarter Friday night: 14-16 plays. Then, the evaluation begins for those trying to prove their worth and make the 53-man roster.
