SHREVEPORT La. -

A bizarre new development in the story of the alleged mistreatment of two special needs men at a Shreveport firehouse.

One of the mentally challenged men involved in the alleged prostitution scandal at fire station eight has not been home for eight days. The alleged victim's brother who wanted to remain anonymous tell KTBS his brother was picked up last week for what he thought was an outing for a movie and maybe some food. But that was eight days ago and he hasn't seen or talked with him since. He says with all the news about the station 8 scandal he's concerned about his brother's safety. The Cedar Grove resident says his brother would go through great lengths for the eleven-mile trip to Fire Station Number 8 near the State Fair Grounds.

"They usually pick him up sometimes and he catch the bus or he has a bicycle inside," the alleged victim's brother said.

The man describes his mentally challenged 52-year old brother as having an eighth grade education. He says since the age of 16 his brother could be found at a fire station, where overnight stays were not unusual.

"He's crazy about the fire department like he is, he usually sleep in the fire truck that's what he told me, I was like why would you go and sleep in the fire truck you got a whole bed to sleep in at the house, but that's just how much he love the fire department," the brother said.

Later that day the brother received a call that said his brother was located and is with a retired firefighter. Though he's been told his brother was fine the two still have not talked. We are also mentioning that the firefighters have been giving rides to the man for years. But the family always knew where he was and he has never been gone for such a long time.

Shreveport's Fire Station 8 on Velva Street has been making headlines since the first arrest of one of its firemen. So far, seven firefighters are under investigation including two captains. Four of those under investigation have been arrested and officials say more arrests may follow.

Jason Vaughan, Shreveport Fire Captain Derrick Harris, Clint Richardson and Billy Glass have all been arrested in connection with the case. All have been charged with principal to prostitution and cruelty to the infirm.
