Three men arrested for alleged brass knuckle beating

VIVIAN, La. -

Three men were arrested in Vivian Tuesday night after allegedly beating a 27 year-old with brass knuckles.

It happened around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday evening in the 10900 block of Murray Lane in Vivian. The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office says that the victim, 27 year-old Chad McCown went to his father-in-law's, James McCormick, house. At some point, there was a heated family argument and James McCormick, Kyle McCormick and Edwin Curry allegedly began beating McCown with brass knuckles.

While running from McCormick's house, McCown was allegedly chased by Curry on foot and by James McCormick who was in a truck. McCown told authorities that he was hit by the truck and that both Kyle and James McCormick pointed guns at him and ordered him into the truck. 

The truck was intercepted in the driveway by Sheriff's Deputy Jeremy Bergren after McCown called 911 from his cell phone. All three suspects were found to be in possession of brass knuckles.

McCown was treated at North Caddo Hospital for a large cut to his forehead and a large cut to the back of his head.

James McCormick, 57 of Vivian was arrested for aggravated battery and second-degree kidnapping.

Kyle McCormick, 28 of Karnack, Texas, was arrested for aggravated battery and second-degree kidnapping.

Edwin Curry, 66 of Vivian was arrested for aggravated battery and illegal carrying of a weapon.

All three have bonded out of jail.
