Young, Higgins battle for LA Tech starting QB job

Posted: Updated:
RUSTON, La -

Like many college teams right now at camp, their depth charts are still not finalized.  But Louisiana Tech tried to get one step closer as their season opener against North Carolina is exactly 2 weeks away.

One battle that's heating up is the one under center and last year's starter Colby Cameron left big shoes to fill.  It's coming down to Texas Tech transfer Scotty Young and Ryan Higgins, who was quick on his feet at Saturday's first major Bulldog scrimmage.

LA Tech head coach Skip Holtz says the job is either one's for the taking and both were impressive Saturday afternoon.
