D in Dogs no bull

Posted: Updated:
RUSTON, La -

When Skip Holtz took over at Louisiana Tech he inherited a nine win team which had the number one offense in the country, but it also had the worst ranked defense.  When looking to areas the team will improve this season, perhaps one should start on that side of the ball.

The Bulldogs have been hustling to the football at practice and scrimmages and may catch a break despite having a tough season opener.  The Dogs open at N.C. State of the ACC on August 31, but the Wolfpack will be debuting a new quarterback, in a new system, under a new head coach.

We may not yet know how good the Tech defense will be this season, but it's a good bet it will not be the worst in the country again.
