Lance Moore brings consistency and versatility to Saints

From going undrafted in 2005 to helping the Saints win the Super Bowl to cap off the 2009 season, Lance Moore has seen a little bit of everything during his NFL tenure.

"I've been a guy that's built my career off of making the most of my opportunity," Moore said.

"Sometimes it's been the number three guy, sometimes as the return guy. Back to '08 for a while, I was the number one guy. To me it doesn't matter. Whatever they want me to do, I'll show up every day to work and do whatever I can to win."

Moore surpassed the 1,000 yard receiving mark for the first time last year, and heading into the 2013 campaign, his expectations are big, not just for himself, but for the entire team.

"I think the sky's the limit for this team. I think we'll play a more complimentary game, in all three facets of the game, and hopefully that will translate to us being successful."

And while Moore has been quiet so far this preseason with just three catches in two games, his teammates refer to him as one of the most reliable players on the roster.

"He's been awesome," Marques Colston said. "You know exactly what you're going to get out of him, day in and day out, week in and week out, he's just been one of those key guys for us."

Quarterback Drew Brees added, "There's nothing we haven't asked him to do that he hasn't come through with, he plays every receiver position. Really moves around a lot, really based on his strengths and his abilities. There's a lot of specialty things that he can do too that most guys just can't do. He has such a great feel for the game."

He'll do whatever it takes to win, and Moore is eager for that first chance come September 8th.

"The key to getting off to a fast start is beating Atlanta," Moore said. "It feels like it's a while from now, but it's never too soon to start looking at that."
