Cam Jordan adjusting well to new defense

When Saints head coach Sean Payton made the switch from a 4-3 to a 3-4 defense, he knew one of the toughest transitions would be going from a defensive end in a 4-3 to an end in a 3-4.

But according to Payton that adjustment for third year pro Cam Jordan has gone rather smoothly.

"He's got very good stamina and he's a tough player, "said Payton. "So I think he was one of the bright spots a year ago and he's handled this transition real well."

"I think I can play anything, "said Jordan, who led the team with eight sacks in 2012. "I honestly think any position you put me at I can excel at."

Through preseason games, Jordan has played a lot of snaps and played well.

Against the Chiefs Jordan had three tackle, two for a loss and one quarterback hurry. Against the Raiders he had a tackle for a loss and had one of the seven sacks the defense put on Oakland quarterback Matt Flynn.

While he acknowledged he is improving and adjusting, he also cautioned against getting too caught up in accomplishments too quickly.

"I'm not where I want to be. I want to be faster, stronger, quicker," said Jordan. "There's always so  many things that you can get better at and that's what it's all about everyday coming out with that mentality."
