Scrimmage stalemate at Parkway

Posted: Updated:
BOSSIER CITY, La -

The high school football season is still nearly two weeks away, but it didn't look like it at Parkway Thursday night.  Hundreds of fans filled the seats in "The Jungle" to watch their Panthers take on perennial powerhouse West Monroe in a scrimmage.  After both offenses got a chance to run a few plays, the teams played a full quarter of live action.  Both squads had touchdown drives and the Panthers blocked a 54 yard field goal attempt as time expired, ending in a 7-7 tie.  Although the scrimmage will not have any factor on the season, it was an early test for both 5A favorites.  Parkway's lone score game on a pass from LSU commit Brandon Harris to William McKnight.  The Panthers will open the season on September 6th at home against Calvary.
