Seasons start bigger in Texas

Posted: Updated:
BATON ROUGE, La -

LSU began its first game week of the season preparing to face TCU of the Big 12 at the Cowboys AT&T Stadium Saturday night in Arlington, Texas.  LSU has played the Cowboys Kickoff Classic before, two years ago, when they feasted on some Oregon Duck, leading to an undefeated regular season.

Head coach Les Miles told the media assembled for his first game week news conference that he knows TCU is a formidable opponent, which is why his team voted to play in this game again.  Miles praised his new offensive coordinator Cam Cameron, saying the offense looks very good and also praised his defensive coordinator John Chavis.  Despite the defense having lost most of its starters to the NFL, Miles says he expects the defense to play the way he has been accustomed to LSU defenses playing.

Miles also praised the Cowboys for the great stadium LSU gets to play in again and made it clear the team likes to play in Texas because it recruits Texas well and looks forward to being there again this week.
