Gallup Report Ranks Louisiana Workers Most Engaged in the Nation

Posted: Updated:
united states -

As we celebrate the American worker during this Labor Day, a recent 2013 Gallup Report, "State of the American Workplace" shows that Louisiana workers are the most engaged in the nation, translating into higher productivity, company growth and customer satisfaction.

Louisiana leads the country with the highest percentage of engaged workers at 37 percent, as compared to the national average of 30 percent.

Engaged employees are characterized as being involved in, enthusiastic about, and committed to their work and contribute to their organization in a positive manner.

Gallup's extensive research shows that engagement is strongly connected to business outcomes essential to an organization's financial success, including productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

Engaged employees are also the ones who are the most likely to drive the innovation, growth, and revenue that their companies so desperately need.

These engaged workers build new products and services, generate new ideas, create new customers, and ultimately help spur the economy to create more good jobs.

Other Gallup Report Findings about the American Worker Nationally:

  • Millennials are most likely of all generations to say they will leave their jobs in the next 12 months if the job market improves.
  • Women have slightly higher overall engagement than men.
  • Employees with a college degree are not as likely as those with less education to report having a positive, engaging workplace experience.
