SHREVEPORT, La. -

Three former Shreveport firefighters entered "not guilty" pleas before Judge Ramona Emanuel at the Caddo Parish Courthouse Wednesday morning.

Billy Glass, Clint Richardson, and Jason Vaughan are accused of buying a prostitute for a mentally disabled man on June 14, as well as routine hazing against him and another disabled man for a period stretching years.

"There's a lot of accusations for a lot of different behaviors that's accused over a number of years, with a lot of different people," Peter Flowers, attorney for Richardson, said outside the courthouse. "To lay all that at the feed of these four firemen, I think is unfortunate and inappropriate."

Flowers and Stephen Glassell, attorney for Jason Vaughan, agree on that point: their clients are being blamed for the actions of others.

"He wasn't even at Station 8 until April of this year, so anything that occurred prior to that, he absolutely was not part of it," Glass el said. "Regarding the prostitution allegation, Jason was present at the fire station on the day of the incident, but he was not involved in planning the incident or paying the prostitute.

Records, however, show the co-defendants admitting to some questionable acts and pointing some of the blame at each other.

In one report, Richardson allegedly admits to police that he burned the prostitute's phone number after learning of an investigation.

Court documents have Richardson saying he, Vaughan, and others chipped in to pay for the prostitute. Billy Glass reportedly told police he handed that money to the victim.

Police say on August 6, Vaughan told them he was present during the June 14 incident, knew the others contributed money, sent Richardson to peek in on the sex act, and himself unsuccessfully attempted to watch from a different viewpoint.

All three men- along with Derrick Harris- were terminated from their positions with SFD Friday, Aug. 30.

One man- Capt. Randy Chandler- remains on paid administrative leave after he was charged with cruelty to the infirm.

Harris' lawyer, John Settle, told KTBS 3 News his firm planned to submit an appeal to the Shreveport Civil Service Board sometime Wednesday.
