Me and bobbing McGee

Posted: Updated:
BATON ROUGE, La -

If patience is a virtue then LSU running back Terrence Magee is virtuous indeed.  Not since Janis Joplin sang about being "busted flat in Baton Rouge" in "Me and Bobby McGee" has a McGee in Baton Rouge gotten this much attention.

Magee did not start a single game as a freshman or sophomore and in his sophomore season made the transition from running back to wide receiver.  This year, he transitioned back.  One carry for zero yards a year ago, then on Saturday night against a very good TCU defense Magee ran for 95 yards and two touchdowns.

To many observers his performance was a big surprise, but not to his teammates.  Defensive tackle Ego Ferguson says Magee has been doing that in practice all along.  Head coach Les Miles liked what he saw Saturday night as says the team is going to have to find new ways to use Magee, who has certainly earned his opportunity.
