BOSSIER CITY, La. -

UPDATE: Zachary Allen Stone was taken into custody by authorities in Denton County, Texas and booked on warrants from Bossier Parish.

Bossier City police have identified the third person who is accused of being involved in the attempted theft of an ATM that resulted in a police chase last month.

Detectives have issued an arrest warrant for Zachary Allen Stone, 29 of Little Elm, Texas, on charges of attempted theft and criminal property damage.

The charges stem from an incident where Stone and two others tried to steal an ATM from the Ouachita Independent Bank branch in the 4200 block of Benton Road on August 15. The three allegedly put a chain around the machine then pulled it off its foundation with a pickup truck. The trio then drove off without taking the machine or any money from it.

Later that night, the three suspects lead police on a chase after a Bossier City patrol officer spotted a truck matching the description of the vehicle on Barksdale Boulevard. Bossier City police chased the suspects into Shreveport where the pickup wound up leaving the roadway on I-20 near Jewella Avenue. Two of the suspects, 24 year old Gerri Davis of White Oak, Texas and 29 year-old Carl Gearhart III of Tyler, Texas, were captured and arrested. Stone, however, escaped.

Anyone with information about Stone's whereabouts is urged to call Bossier Crimestoppers at (318) 424-4100.

Calls to Crime Stoppers are reminded they may remain totally anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest.
