Calvary loses a big one

Posted: Updated:
SHREVEPORT, La -

Calvary standout defensive tackle T. D. Moton walked in to head coach John Bachman's office Wednesday morning and told the coach he was leaving school.  Rumors swirled throughout the day that Moton was going to transfer back to Parkway, where he attended 9th grade after Moton himself said on Twitter that he was going to go back to Parkway.

Calvary coach Bachman told KTBS 3 Sports that Moton, who has been raised by his grandmother in Shreveport, told him that he was planning to move in with his mother in Dallas and was not going to play football.  Parkway head coach Dave Feaster says he called Bachman Wednesday morning as soon as he heard the Parkway rumor to tell Bachman that he has never talked with Moton.  If Moton should enroll at Parkway he would not be eligible to play for one year.

Moton is a 6'4", 310 pound junior defensive tackle who has already received scholarship offers from LSU, Georgia, Notre Dame and Florida State.
