Fallen Minden soldier honored in dedication

Posted: Updated:
WEBSTER PARISH, La. -

If you're traveling along I-20 through Webster Parish, you may notice a sign bearing the name Sgt. Joshua Tomlinson Interchange.

The sign is in honor of Tomlinson who was killed by a suicide car bomber in Afghanistan.

On Wednesday, September 11th, members of the community along with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development held a dedication ceremony to recognize the naming of the interchange at I-20 and LA 531.

Tomlinson's parents were on hand for the ceremony.

His mother hopes people will remember her son as a hero. Rebecca Jobe says her son was "a good person" and he had "so much love and compassion for other people".

The sign is provided by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development
