Longview wins a nail-biter to improve to 2-1

Posted: Updated:
SHREVEPORT, La -

The 3rd annual Landers Dodge Battle on the Border High School Football Showcase is officially in the books, and we saw quite the finale between Longview and Olive Branch late Saturday night under the lights of Independence Staduim.  Olive Branch found themselves in Longview territory only down by one point with just over two minutes to go.

But their field goal attempt fell short, giving the Lobos the win 27-26.  It was a back and forth game with both squads trading leads throughout the first half.  And in the second, it came down to the kickers as Olive Branch failed to convert an extra point that would have tied it at 27and as we said earlier missed the game winning field goal.
