You have to be at least 90 years old to join this Logansport club, thus the name, the 90 plus club.
Recently the friends of the Loganspsort library hosted their Second Annual 90 plus club birthday party.
When the honorees spoke, it was a glimpse into the past.
"I think...it's important that we honor our senior citizens because they have such a vast history in their lives. Their lives have been lived and the stories they have to tell us." Tommy McMellon, club president said.
Many members remembered times where life seemed to be more simple.
"Today, they have computers and these phones," Lavada Byrant, who is 102 said, "People go around with heads turned sideways."
Others were reminded of where they grew up.
"I was born and raised in Oak Grove. It's Stanley now." Sybil Smith, 94, said.
Others claimed not to have such an interesting life.
"I have led a very uninteresting life. My whole at home," Vera Register, who is 101 said. "I taught Sunday school and worked in the tomatoes fields."
Many years of the good life were at the Logansport 90 plus birthday party. Ten were honored with their ages adding up to the total of 943 years.
That's a lot of living.
