SHREVEPORT, La. -

Benteler Steel announced last October that it will create 675 new direct jobs, paying an average annual salary of $50,000, plus benefits.

Additionally, Teleperformance call center promises to bring 740 new jobs to the area, 400 of those to be added this year.

Many of those jobs can be accessed with just the click of a mouse.

Jacques Lasseigne, with the Louisiana Workforce Commission in Shreveport says, right now, Benteler Steel is posting mostly construction jobs through the Commission's website.

Those jobs are associated with the construction of the Benteler Steel facility at The Port of Caddo-Bossier.

He says they're hiring for mainly commercical truck drivers, especially those that haul dirt and concrete.

Lasseigne says, as those jobs expand, the Workforce Commission will receive those listings and be able to notify the public.

And with Teleperformance looking to hire several hundred people for their call center within the year, Lasseigne says it's not too early to apply.

"[Teleperformance] does have a job order on our website as of today. So people can go to our website, laworks.net, to apply for those jobs. Just put in Teleperformance or customer service and you'll get there. So that's a great thing for this economy."

You may have already applied, but would like to meet employers face to face.

You can do that an upcoming job fair sponsored by the LA Workforce Commission, City of Shreveport, and Coordinating & Development Corporation.

It'll be at the downtown Shreveport Convention Center on Thursday, October 17, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Applicants are encouraged to dress professionally, and bring an updated resume, as well as valid form of identification.

There will be free parking at the Convention Center for the duration of the job fair.
