SHREVEPORT, La. -

Shreveport Fire Investigators and Shreveport Police Department have arrested 58-year-old Sammie Sherman for aggravated arson. Sherman was arrested for allegedly setting fire to the home at 1929 Linear Street last night. Fire Investigators began last night investigating the cause leading to the arrest of Sherman this morning at a home at 1925 Linear Street.

Whoever commits the crime of aggravated arson shall be imprisoned at hard labor for not less than six nor more than twenty years, and shall be fined not more than $25,000. Two years of such imprisonment at hard labor shall be without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.
