Kansas kicker Matthew Wyman kicked a game-winning 52-yard field goal as time expired to complete a come-from-behind victory and defeat Louisiana Tech, 13-10, Saturday afternoon at Memorial Stadium.

Kansas (2-1, 0-0 Big 12) recovered a LA Tech (1-3, 0-1 C-USA) fumble on the Jayhawk goal line with less than 90 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter and drove down the length of the field before Wyman connected on a 52-yard strike to break a 10-10 tie and complete the victory for the Jayhawks.

LA Tech's quarterback Ryan Higgins finished the game 35-55 for 289 yards, a touchdown and an interception, while running back Kenneth Dixon led all-rushers with 18 carries for 129 yards. Dixon surpassed the 100-yard rushing mark for the second time this season and the eighth time in his career.

Higgins made sure to spread the ball around as eight different receivers caught passes in today's game with D.J. Banks leading the way with a career-high 13 receptions for 82 yards on the day. Seven of the receivers had at least 10 yards receiving versus the Jayhawks.

The Bulldog offense was slow to start in Higgins' first career start as the first two drives ended in a pair of punts. On the third drive, Higgins' pass to Jacarri Jackson bounced off Jackson's hands and was intercepted by Kansas' Ben Heeney.

On the next drive, LA Tech got on the board with an eight-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Higgins to Hunter Lee as Lee made a leaping grab in the end zone. That capped off a 10-play, 57-yard drive spanning 2:53 and gave the Bulldogs a 7-0 lead.

After each team missed a field goal, Kansas would connect on a kick as Matthew Wyman's 39-yard field goal cut Tech's lead to 7-3.

The Bulldogs would miss one more field goal attempt before the end of the first half but Kyle Fischer would break a streak of four consecutive misses with a 39-yard field goal early in the third quarter, extending Tech's lead to 10-3.

LA Tech was on the verge of scoring a touchdown on a scramble by Higgins but, after an initial call of being out of bounds at the Kansas 2-yard line but a video review showed he lost control of the ball as it rolled into the end zone, granting Kansas a touchback. The Jayhawks would turn that error into seven points as Heaps drove 80 yards in eight plays as he found Jimmay Mundine on a 22-yard pass for a touchdown to tie the game with 9:54 left in the fourth quarter.

After trading punts, LA Tech received the ball on its own 15-yard line and drove down the length of the field on a 10-play drive to put the Bulldogs in scoring position at the Kansas 18-yard line. On the ensuing play, Dixon rushed 13 yards to the 5-yard line before a forced fumble by Michael Reynold gave Kansas the ball on its own goal line.

With 1:33 left in the game, Kansas quarterback Jake Heap led the Jayhawks down the field to the LA Tech 35-yard line to set up the eventual game-winning 52-yard field goal for Wyman.
