Camp Minden to take over Explo land, begin selling explosives

Posted: Updated:

Camp Minden will receive ownership of the property formerly leased by the now-bankrupt Explo Systems.

Louisiana Rep. Jeff Thompson (R-Bossier) confirms Explo will move off the land, Camp Minden will take control of the M6 propellant, and begin to sell or destroy 10 million pounds of the explosives.

The lot was the site of a massive accidental explosion in October 2012.

Nobody was injured by the blast, but nearby homes and businesses were damaged.
