A Queen City man is behind bars after a weekend accident in Texarkana leaves two dead.

It happened Sunday morning in the 1400 block of State Line Road in Texarkana, Texas.

Police tell KTBS 3 News that 34-year-old Chad Caldwell was operating a 2006 Jeep when he collided with a 2004 Honda driven by 38-year-old Tameka Pavon.

Pavon died from injuries sustained during the crash. Two passengers in Pavon's vehicle, Genaro Comacho and Jacarlos Hawkins, 34, were transported to a local hospital. Hawkins died Sunday afternoon.

Authorities determined that Caldwell disregarded the red light at the intersection. During the investigation, authorities also determined that alcohol was a factor in this crash. Caldwell was initially arrested for intoxication manslaughter, Caldwell now faces additional charges following the second confirmed death. A second count of intoxication manslaughter and also one count of intoxication assault.

He was booked in to the Bi-State Justice Center. No bond has been set.
