Jackson Co. meth dealers sentenced to prison

A 30-year-old man suspected of running a drug-trafficking organization in Jackson County since 2009 has been fined $5,000 and sentenced to 20 years in prison.

The Sun Herald reports Christopher Carl Brown and two others charged in a federal indictment were sentenced Tuesday. They are among 12 who have been ordered to prison for their roles in buying pseudoephedrine in Alabama and Louisiana for meth-making activity in South Mississippi.

U.S. District Judge Sul Ozerden sentenced 24-year-old Cody Pawlak to nine years in prison and fined him $2,500. The judge sentenced 23-year-old Jamie Brook Potts to 10 years and eight months in prison and fined her $3,500.
