Commission to spend $1.3 million on water lines

Posted: Updated:
SHREVEPORT, La. -

Caddo Commissioners agreed on some big spending this afternoon all for the sake of growth in North Caddo.

The body passed ordinances granting $700,000 to Oil City and $612,000 to the Town of Vivian. It supplements existing state funded projects, which install water lines to the town's I-49 interchanges. The added funds allow for larger pipes to be used in anticipation of commercial and residential growth in those areas. An I-49 corridor land use study was also granted $150,000.

The money will come from the oil and gas fund, as well as capital outlay funds.
