ETBU falls at home

Posted: Updated:
MARSHALL, Tx. -

ETBU entered Saturday's match up with Texas Lutheran looking to continue their impressive early season run.  Unfortunately for Tiger fans, the Bulldogs were just too much for ETBU.  The game got off to an odd start.  After the Bulldogs made it 7-0 the Tiger's had trouble handling the ensuing kickoff before downing it in the end zone, which would eventually be ruled a safety.  On the Bulldog's next possession, Brent Peavy's pass was intercepted by the Tigers only to be fumbled in the end zone and scooped up for another TLU touchdown.  It looked like it would be all Bulldogs early, but the Tiger's fought back thanks to some huge touchdown throws from Josh Warbington, including two at the end the half to Tyler Bates.  But in the end, the TLU offense outpaced ETBU on their way to a 64 to 41 victory.  The Tigers will open conference play on the road against Louisiana College next week.
