LSU rebounds after tough loss

Posted: Updated:
Starkville, MS -

LSU avoided the trap game against Mississippi State Saturday.  The Tigers proved they could keep their emotions in check following a tough defeat.  Although it was close until the 4th quarter, the purple and gold pulled off a stunning 59-26 defeat.

Mettenberger continues to impress, leading his team to 28 unanswered points in the 4th quarter. The Tigers quarterback has caught the attention of the Heisman voters, throwing for over 700 yards in the last 2 games.

Mettenberger threw 340 yards Saturday night, connecting with Odell Beckham twice for a score. He also was 25-29 and his success helps not just his tandem of wide receivers, but the stable of backs as well.

LSU hosts Florida in Death Valley on Saturday.

Adrian Peterson was back at Minnesota Vikings headquarters on Monday, and the first thing fullback Jerome Felton did when he saw his star running back was give him a high-five.
For as long as he's been in the NFL, Adrian Peterson has been one of the most popular and most marketable stars in the league.
