No Demons to exorcise

Posted: Updated:
NATCHITOCHES, La. -

The Demons of Northwestern State are now ready for the most important part of their schedule and it will begin in the place new head coach Jay Thomas spent more than a decade, Nicholls State.  Thomas was head coach for the final six seasons of his run there and helped lead Nicholls to its only Southland Conference championship.

That's what Thomas would like to have happen at Northwestern, but he says he has nothing but fond memories of his time at Nicholls.  The rivalry between Northwestern and Nicholls grew while Thomas was in Thibodaux and he is enjoying being on the Demons side of it now.

The Demons are 3-2 and over the next seven weeks will play the games that will determine the quality of their season.  Thomas says he hopes his experience in Thibodaux will help his team with what awaits because he knows it is a tough place to play.  If Northwestern can get away with a win its start in Southland Conference play will be off to an outstanding start.
