Shreveport mother sounding alarm after suspicious man approaches young daughter

Posted: Updated:
SHREVEPORT, La -

It's a parent's worst nightmare, something out of a movie.

It's the first year Bridgette Banks let her 12-year-old daughter, Christen, walk home from school, and now she's second-guessing that decision.

"She had seen that car twice before and it was freaking her out," Banks says.

The car a white Toyota Camry, driven by a white male with short brown hair, about 25-35 years old.

Banks says he drove up alongside Christen and her friend Amanda as they walked on Grover Place, near Katy Street, heading home from Youree Drive Middle School.

"I know within a four minute time frame when [Christen's] walking through my yard."

But Thursday afternoon, Christen was late.

That's because the man, for the third time in a month, stopped the two girls to ask for the same directions to nearby Arthur Circle.

But this time the girls - who didn't want their faces shown - say the driver exposed himself.

"I didn't know if he actually needed help or what was wrong with him," Amanda recalls.

Christen and Amanda say they were scared when they realized this was the same man who'd stopped them previously.

"I hope they find him because I don't want it to happen again."

And Banks is just grateful her daughter made it home to her safely.

"That's all it takes, is one moment, and your little girl or little boy is not there anymore."

Banks says she immediately called police Thursday afternoon and filed a report.

In that report, the man is described as 'touching himself with no bottoms on.'

The girls say he was only wearing a white t-shirt and that his car has fuzzy tan seats, with an Orr Nissan plate on the front.
