A Haughton teen hopes to inspire those suffering with cancer as part of her senior project.
Brittany Brumfield hosted Miss. Hope of Haughton, a cancer benefit beauty pageant at Haughton High School last Saturday night. The pageant was free to enter and was open to contestants ages four to nineteen and admission fees went towards Saint Jude Hospital.
The participants who walked across the stage dedicated their walk to someone they know who is suffering cancer. Brumfield got the idea after witnessing a friend fight leukemia and just wants girls who are battling cancer to feel beautiful.
"Just seeing a friend fall out of hope just hurts me and her personally so I wanted to lift her spirit and make her feel beautiful because she is" says Brumfield.
