It is easy being Greene

Posted: Updated:
SHREVEPORT, La -

Every coach has a style, whether it be loud and in your face or more laid back.  At Fair Park, third year head coach Mike Greene's style is tough to label, but whatever he's doing, it's working.

Greene has led the Indians to their first winning season since 1995... And we're not yet done.  In a special report, Tatum Everett takes us inside Fair Park to see how Coach Greene's approach has taken a team that went 1-9 last year to 6-1 so far this year.

In this story we listen to Greene during practice as he mixes his fun approach with teaching skills and a strong demeanor which has brought respect and results from his players.  We also hear from several of his players on what their special coach has meant to them.

Greene has been a fixture on the Shreveport high school football coaching scene since 1987.  Greene explains in the feature story how he never understood coaches who liked to move around because he has stayed a long time at each of his three jobs.  He started at Loyola Prep, then went to Airline and now Fair Park.  After his team's first loss of the season, last Friday to Northwood, this week Fair Park will travel to Greene's first stop, Loyola.

With a rise in online classes, many educational institutions are asking the question, how can they maintain academic integrity in the digital age. More and more students are getting educated through online sources, to match courses to their busy schedules, avoid long commutes or to save money. "Well, people who are local to the Shreveport area, they have the option of coming in and actually taking the exam at an assigned time. They don't have to pay for the exam.
