Bossier Parish Community College extends opportunities for Hispanic Students

Posted: Updated:
BOSSIER CITY, La. -

Bossier Parish Community College has secured it's partnership with the League of United Latin American Citizens.

Thursday morning, the organization signed  an agreement to build a Hispanic resource center on the campus to provide students with educational and financial resources they need to succeed.
Administrators say they  hope the move strengthens the relationship between the community college and the increasing Hispanic population.

"This partnership with LULAC allows us to expand our services to grow in population of the community. Just in the last 4 years we've seen our Latino
enrollment grown from being less than 5% of our enrollment to more than 15% of our enrollment," said Chancellor Jim Henderson.

The resource center will be located in the college's transition programs building at 415 Monroe Street in Bossier City.
