Some Bills come due: former LSU stars homecomings spoiled

Posted: Updated:
New Orleans, La. -

Ruston native Kyle Williams and fellow former LSU Tiger Matt Flynn returned to New Orleans with the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, but their homecomings were spoiled by the Saints.  Flynn, who signed with the Bills only two weeks ago, was not active for the game, won by the Saints 35-17, but Williams certainly was.

Kyle Williams had 1.5 sacks and was a disruptive force on the Buffalo defensive line.  Williams said after the game, it's always nice to play in front of family and friends and while he has many good memories of the Superdome, he came to win a football game and the fact that he and his Bills teammates did not do that was disappointing.

Williams and Flynn were both part of LSU national championship teams which won their rings in New Orleans.  Flynn admits things have been a whirlwind for him and have not gone as he had hoped.  Flynn signed a big free agent deal with the Seahawks, but Russell Wilson wound up winning the job with a spectacular rookie season.  Flynn then went to Oakland where Terrelle Pryor emerged and Flynn was released.  Flynn signed with the Bills two weeks ago, but has not yet played and the quarterback job will go back to rookie first round pick E.J. Manuel once Manuel is healthy.

Flynn was happy to be back in the Superdome and happy to watch a great quarterback like Drew Brees in person.  Brees threw five touchdown passes in the game against the Bills.
