SPAR holds Halloween events across Shreveport

Posted: Updated:
SHREVEPORT, La. -

SPAR made Halloween 2013 something to remember for several around the city Thursday night.

SPAR therapeutic held its annual Halloween Explosion at River View Hall downtown. The party gave individuals with disabilities to celebrate Halloween with music, dance food and much more. The time let several open up.

"They're having lots of fun and getting the chance to be creative, concerning their dance skills," Theresa Jacobs said. "This a learning journey for me. Some of our clients are non-verbal, but they can keep beat with the music. So, that's been truly amazing."

Across town at the Southern Hills Metro Center, dozens gathered for candy, face painting and more. Organizers handed out more than 200 bags of candy.

In case you missed them, SPAR holds those events every Halloween, and they're free to the public.
